Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”
