An teenage youth has been sentenced to life behind bars with a lowest term of 16 years for the killing of other student Harvey Willgoose during a lunch break.

Deadly Educational Institution Event

The perpetrator knifed the deceased, also aged 15, into the cardiac area with a large blade at the city's educational institution in February.

Mrs Justice Naomi Ellenbogen removed the identity protection restriction on the defendant during the judgment at the courthouse.

The victim's mother said she felt "like a large burden has been removed off my person" following the verdict.

Legal Trial

During the legal proceedings, the defendant stated he had not intended to kill the victim or cause him serious harm, stating he could not remember what had happened.

Prosecutors countered that he had "desired to show he was hard" and "understood exactly what he was performing".

"You were the aggressor and... you proceeded in distress and fury at what you regarded to be his treachery of your relationship," declared the court official during sentencing.

Consequences

All Saints Catholic High School published a announcement conveying that Harvey was "deeply remembered every daytime by the entire educational community".

Investigators emphasized the tragic consequences of possessing weapons, noting that a "momentary choice" can irreversibly transform numerous lives.
