Skydance Paramount Plans to Eliminate Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – News
Paramount Skydance will initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.
More global layoffs are likely, as the firm intending to disclose full details during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Earlier reports suggested the firm aimed to cut between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
Until December 2024, the company employed almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 contract workers.
Paramount Skydance has not provided a response to a request for comment.
