Explore 29 New Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating heroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The well-known trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Check out below at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful background. Everything listed below releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into all the various special decks and bundles available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of surprising details. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat big creatures onto the battlefield when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (It counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu since that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark to that,” an experienced designer stated. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art designed exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your main deck, many players were. But as per the developers, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.

In any case, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy built around artifacts.

“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to demand. Sources told that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures shown above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Regular basic lands
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Regular basic lands (for building your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • 1 drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products specifically for new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creature cards included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
